TEDxCharlottesville open mic night at the Jeff

TedEx-freespeechwallOn September 30 at the Jefferson Theater over 30 local people will compete in a TEDxCharlottesville open mic night, delivering a 2-minute speech/talk/performance for a chance to participate in the TEDxCharlottesville “The Difference That Makes a Difference” event at the Paramount Theater on November 15.

“The response we received was phenomenal,”  says TEDx committee member, Ann Kinston, in a release, which says that 65 people applied for the 30 open mic spots. “We are overwhelmed and ecstatic by the number of folks who applied to speak. TED is about bringing ideas and people together to share in progressive discussion, which couldn’t be more fitting for the Charlottesville community.”

The September 30 event at the Jeff is free, and the doors open at 6:30pm. There will also be music, a cash bar, and prizes throughout the night, so come out and see what some of our local geniuses have to say!

Tickets and more information about the event can be found at http://www.tedxcharlottesville.com and at http://www.theparamount.net.
