The Virginia Chapter of The American Society of Landscape Architects announced today that it is designating the Charlottesville Downtown Mall as a “2012 Iconic Landscape.”

But you already knew that. Still, at 12pm on Thursday, October 4, at the 3rd Street, NE on the Mall, there will be a ceremony with talks about the Mall and how its was shaped by world-famous landscape architect Lawrence Halprin, and how much of a success it has become.
