The Dalai Lama may be headed to Charlottesville on Thursday, but one of the DTM’s native sons had a chance to chat with His Holiness back in 2008, and on Tuesday Dave Matthews headlines the One World Concert at Syracuse University immediately following a talk by the Dalai Lama. Says musician David Crosby, “This event has such important chemistry. His Holiness the Dalai Lama seeks peace and compassion for the whole human race, and the diversity of musicians and speakers on the panels is also important. Since Dave Matthews first appeared in the music world he has been trying to go for the high ground. He’s also a very powerful presence….there’s a chance for magic to happen here.” Let’s hope some magic happens here, too.
